Senior Legal Editor

FromCounsel, the leading online legal intelligence service for law firms and in-house lawyers, is looking for Senior Legal Editors to join its Editorial Team on either a full-time or part-time basis. Since its launch in 2017, FromCounsel has developed a reputation for offering an unmatched knowledge service to corporate lawyers. Our aim is to make our legal content more comprehensive, more insightful and more accessible than anyone else in the market. With over 85% of the top 100 corporate law firms as just some of our clients in corporate law, FromCounsel is now expanding into other areas, including litigation and disputes.

Key responsibilities usually include:

• Developing editorial practices in one or more areas of law
• Promoting excellence in one or more of the team’s technical workstreams (such as case reporting, copy editing and preparing legislation)
• Acting as a point of contact and source of advice for specialist PSLs
• Supervising Legal Editors and guiding best practice where appropriate
• Leading projects to add value to content or improve internal processes
• Onboarding new joiners
• Where appropriate, general Editorial Team tasks such as editing, proofing, summarising and preparing content for publication – see further the Legal Editor job description

Key requirements are as for the Legal Editor position, plus:

• At least one year of full-time (or equivalent) relevant professional experience
• Proven aptitude in Legal Editor technical workstream(s)
• Excellent situational judgement
• Willingness to experiment with different communication and management styles
• Demonstrable interest in FromCounsel, one or more of our areas of law, and the wider legal knowledge landscape

Candidates should be focused, efficient and confident in working on their own initiative to deadlines. They should enjoy working as part of a team, collaborating with knowledge lawyers and barristers to ensure content meets FromCounsel’s premium standards.
